I recently sat down with Hairstylist Ashley Sheibe from Spectrum Hair, to discuss hair care.

I asked her, what are the top 3 things woman should know from a hairstylist’s perspective. Here’s what she said.

  • Products–  According to Ashley “Good Shampoo and Conditioner are very important for the integrity of and also to help protect your color that you just paid money on!”

  • Cutting and Trimming Your Hair– Ashley has been doing my hair for 10 years. She herself has long beautiful hair, and knows first hand how important this is. Here’s what Ashley said. ” Cutting and Trimming your hair is a must in trying to grow your hair out. Some people wait a year to cut their hair, thinking it will grow longer. Yes, it will grow longer but you also have more split ends from the year. Think about your hair routine, blow drying, flat ironing, curling, and just the environment (water, sun, etc.). All of this impacts the growth of split ends. If you want healthy hair, cut and trim it often.”

  • Achieving that perfect Color–  How does it happen? According to Ashley it’s possible. “Achieving a color you’ve been eyeing online or in a magazine can probably take multiple appointments with your stylist. We can achieve a lot but we can’t do magic! So be patient with us in achieving what you want, because we are also trying to keep the integrity of your hair!”

My hair only looks this good because of Ashely.

Can I just say, this woman is a God send. I’m one of the laziest people on the planet when it comes to my hair care. Ashley knows this all to well. After 10 years of sitting in her chair I’ve learned a lot.
